About the Homeschooler's Guide

Our Mandate

The Homeschooler's Guide is an education magazine published in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The magazine, in conjunction with its website:

(1) connects parents with the educational resources they need to make informed decisions about how to educate their children and

(2) actively supports a wide variety of educational choices.

The Homeschooler's Guide

Respects ALL forms of education (alternative, conventional or other-wise). Each form offers advantages and disadvantages that can only be weighed and decided upon by each individual family.

Recognizes and accepts that everyone has knowledge and experience that they can share. The process of sharing knowledge enhances learning for all.

Encourages parents to believe in themselves and the importance of the role they play in ALL aspects of their child's life, especially education.

Understands that education is not an isolated issue. Parenting and health impact the quality and type of education a child receives.

Supports equal access for all children to educational, health and parenting resources.
